The Experience.

Our goal remains the same as the day our first hospital opened its doors back in 1974.

“Providing young veterinary professionals the opportunity to grow through hands-on training, peer to peer mentorship, state of the art technology, continuing education, and having the necessary downtime to recharge and enjoy quality time at home”.

While in Las Vegas, you will have the unique opportunity to spend time at each of our general practices as well as our specialty center.

As an extern, we will provide you with housing, a weekly stipend, transportation to our Hospitals, but most importantly, a mentorship from one of our reputable Doctors during all assessments and medical procedures. The Nave Veterinary Group welcomes anyone who is committed to practicing the best that veterinary medicine has to offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF AN EXTERN?
You will be expected to work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Weekends will be free for your own use. You will not be expected to be available for emergency work. We strive to make this time an enjoyable learning experience. You will not be asked to do anything you do not feel capable of or are not ready to do.
HOW MANY CLINICS WILL AN EXTERN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE?
Depending on the length of your externship, you will visit between 5-10 general practices, including our specialty center.
WHAT IS THE IDEAL LENGTH OF AN EXTERNSHIP?
We recommend a minimum of two weeks for externs to get the most experience.
WILL HOUSING BE PROVIDED?

Yes, housing will be provided. We provide a single bedroom apartment fully furnished.

Am I allowed to bring my pet?

No, our current housing agreement does not allow pets of any kind in our units.

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?
You will be picked up at the airport and be taken to your housing destination. Daily transportation to and from work will be provided by one of our The Nave Veterinary Group team members. If you need transportation during your free time, buses, taxis, Uber and Lyft are all available in the area.
WILL THE NAVE VETERINARY GROUP PROVIDE A STIPEND FOR EXTERNS?
A stipend is provided based on university requirements.
WHAT ARE THE DRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR EXTERNS?
Surgical scrubs, lab coat, and stethoscopes are acceptable while at work. You will be involved in surgeries and seeing clients. Bring appropriate business casual clothes for evenings out with our doctors and staff.
