About Us
We have been providing veterinary care in Southern Nevada since 1971, helping both Nevada pets and their owners.
About The Nave Veterinary Group
We have dedicated our lives to this cause and continue to create an atmosphere for budding new doctors to pursue their dreams in veterinary medicine and teach them how to reach any and all goals they may have. We have also made sure to include doctors of all areas and diversities, reaching to the edges of California to the island of St. Kitts, in order to offer the opportunity to help them grow and learn. Our process has led to the development of over 21 freestanding veterinary hospitals with state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge medicine. We look forward to the future of veterinary medicine and continue to expand our horizons here in Southern Nevada.
Meet our executive team!
Dr. James Nave
Dr. Nave opened Tropicana Animal Hospital in 1974 with the simple goal of not only helping people and their pets but also mentor young doctors who shared his vision and high standard of Veterinary medicine. As he began working with these other doctors who wished to learn from him, Dr. Nave began to expand his facilities so that the team of doctors he was mentoring had a place to grow and thrive. One by one, they took a leadership role in these locations and continued to teach all that they had learned to their own doctors at their new hospitals.
During this exciting time of growth, Dr. Nave met Dr. Kurt Mychajlonka. It was immediately evident that they both shared a common interest in veterinary medicine as well as meeting the same high standards of quality patient care. So, in order to share their knowledge and passion with the world, Dr. Nave teamed up with Dr. Kurt Mychajlonka, and his wife Dr. Debra White, and their partnership took off creating a mentoring program that would treat everything from cats and dogs to pocket pets and exotics.
Fueled by the desire to share their passion with other doctors who were like-minded, Dr. Nave and Dr. Kurt Mychajlonka created an ongoing mentorship program for young doctors. This program creates an atmosphere for budding new doctors to pursue their dreams in veterinary medicine and teaches them how to reach any and all goals they may have. They made sure to include doctors of all areas and diversities, reaching to the edges of California to the island of St. Kitts, in order to offer the opportunity to help them grow and learn under-seasoned veterinarians.
This process has led to the development of over 19 freestanding veterinary hospitals with state-of-the-art technology and cutting edge medicine. Dr. Nave wishes only to better the learning experience of every veterinarian that wishes to be mentored by his staff and continues to be active in not only community and statewide, but nationally as well.
Dr. Nave looks forward to continuing to expand the mentoring program that he created and is excited to see what the future holds for him and his doctors in veterinary medicine!
